“Man, I was sexy. 19 years old and really beautiful to look at. And unlucky. God, that’s 60 years ago already.”
Watching people: we like to do it. On television, from a terrace, at a festival. And if you look, what do you actually see? In ‘Life Itself’ you look at two people who think they are unwatched. Two lives that, at first sight, seem to walk past each other. With music and narration through headphones you are taken into the stories of Marilou (79, Leiden) and Wessam (37, Aleppo). Wessam and Marilou talk candidly about their past, present and future. What do they recognize in each other and what not? Life Itself takes you into two worlds, on the interface of theater and reality.
